Cryptography Offers Workshop on Defending Attacks on Embedded Devices
Cryptography Research, Inc. (CRI) announced that it will hold a one-day workshop about how to thwart attacks on embedded devices like mobile communication systems. The workshop is entitled: “An Introduction to Side-Channel Analysis, SPA, DPA and Timing Attacks” and will take place at the Crowne Plaza Washington DC/Silver Spring Hotel on August 14, 2008.

CIMAC FabVi Software Clones Semiconductor Equipment Automation
A new simulation software application known as FabVi (Fab Virtual image) clones semiconductor equipment automation and automated material handling system interface functions for MES software validation testing to help maintain fab efficiency and equipment utilization. Developed by CIMAC, a software supplier specializing in semiconductor applications, key elements of the simulation will be demonstrated at SEMICON West, July 13-15, 2008 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Cypress Introduces 2-Mbit CY14B102, 8-Mbit CY14B108 nvSRAMs
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) introduced 2-Mbit and 8-Mbit non-volatile static random access memories (nvSRAMs), extending Cypress’s nvSRAM portfolio from 16-Kbit to 8-Mbit. The new devices feature access times as low as 20 ns, infinite read, write and recall cycles, and 20-year data retention. They offer the best solution for applications requiring continuous high-speed writing of data and absolute non-volatile data security.

Elma Rolls Out AMC Air Baffle/Filler Boards
Elma Electronic Inc. has announced AMC boards that act as an air baffle and filler panel for empty slots in MicroTCA chassis. The AMC air baffle can be plugged into unused slots in a MicroTCA chassis to redirect or contain airflow. This helps keep the cool air within the critical parts of the enclosure, improving the overall thermal performance. The cards also act as a filler board, preventing open slots and helping to protect the chassis from outside elements such as dust.

Suzuki Musical Inst. Selects eSOL PrFILE2 FAT for XK-3c Drawbar Organ
eSOL announced that Suzuki Musical Inst. MFG has selected eSOL’s PrFILE(R)2 FAT file system for the HAMMOND organ “XK-3c”, designed for the professional musician. The XK-3c uses the CompactFlash(R) memory card as its storage media for recording various setting information. PrFILE2 provides a reliable file system for writing and reading such setting data to/from the CompactFlash memory card.
