Atmel Announces AT42QT2160 Touch Controller IC for Slider, Buttons
Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) announced the AT42QT2160 – a touch controller IC combining touch key and touch slider functions in a single device. The AT42QT2160 can control up to 16 individual touch keys with a slider comprising between 2 and 8 of the touch key channels. In addition, the chip can also control up to 11 LEDs through a PWM output function that is controlled by the host, eliminating the need for an external LED controller.

Texas Instruments Launches TPA2016D2 Stereo Class-D Amplifier
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) introduced a highly advanced, filter-free, stereo Class-D amplifier that provides a 1.7-W per channel output drive capability across an 8-Ohm load and improves overall volume versus traditional Class-D products. The new amplifier incorporates programmable dynamic range compression (DRC) that automatically adjusts the audio to the desired loudness range while protecting the speaker and preventing clipping and distortion.

Emerson Network Power has launched a high efficiency 100-150 watt ac-dc supply that features both ITE and non-patient contact and non-patient critical medical safety approvals.
