Crossware 8051 Development Suite Supports Silicon Lab C8051F9xx MCUs
Crossware, a leading embedded software tools developer, has enhanced its 8051 Development Suite by adding support for the C8051F9xx family of mixed signal microcontrollers from Silicon Laboratories. The C8051F9xx is the industry’s first family of microcontrollers (MCUs) capable of operating down to 0.9 V, enabling portable devices to derive power from a single-cell battery.

STMicroelectronics Announces 1MHz Serial EEPROMs with 1 Mbit Density
STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM) has introduced 1MHz two-wire serial EEPROMs in 256-Kbit, 512-Kbit and 1-Mbit densities, compatible with I2C Fast-Mode-Plus allowing data rates up to 2.5-times faster than the I2C Fast-mode. Operating at 1MHz, the M24M01-HR is able to complete a 1-Mbit data transaction in 1 second; the 256-Kbit M24256-BHR in a quarter of a second; and the 512-Kbit M24512-HR in half a second.

Q1 2008 EDA Industry Revenue Declines 1.2% to $1350.7 Million
The EDA Consortium (EDAC) Market Statistics Service (MSS) announced that the electronic design automation (EDA) industry revenue for Q1 2008 declined 1.2 percent to $1350.7 million compared to $1366.8 million in Q1 2007. The four-quarter average growth rate, which compares the most recent four quarters to the same four quarters in the prior year, was up 5.9 percent.
