MTI Micro Prototypes Embedded Fuel Cell for Handheld GPS Devices
MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. ("MTI Micro"), the developer of Mobion® off-the-grid portable power solutions and a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Incorporated ("MTI") (NASDAQ: MKTY), unveils a new embedded micro fuel cell prototype design for handheld global positioning system ("GPS") devices at the 10th Annual International Small Fuel Cells Conference in Atlanta.

MagnaChip Announces Ultra Low Noise Process Technology
MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd., a leading Asia-based designer and manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products for high volume consumer applications, announced that it now offers an ultra low noise process technology with industry leading low flicker noise and no required shift of electrical parameters for industry standard 0.18um 1.8, 3.3, and 5.0 volt and 0.35um 3.3 and 5.0 volt CMOS devices.

AnalogicTech AAT2601 Power Management IC Simplifies CDMA Phone Designs
Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc. (AnalogicTech) (Nasdaq: AATI), a developer of power management semiconductors for mobile consumer electronic devices, announced the AAT2601, the company's first power management IC designed for the specific requirements of mid-tier CDMA handsets. Integrating a single-cell Lithium-ion battery charger, a 300 mA step-down converter, five low dropout (LDO) regulators, a reset function and an I(2)C interface.

Mobile Handset Industry Form Serial Port Memory Technology Working Group
ARM, Hynix Semiconductor, Inc., LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Silicon Image, Inc., Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, and ST Microelectronics announced the formation of a working group committed to creating an open standard for next-generation memory interface technology targeting mobile devices. Serial Port Memory Technology (SPMT(TM)) will enable extended battery life, bandwidth flexibility, significantly reduced pin count, lower power demand and multiple ports.
