Kontron Publishes Specifications for nano Computer on Module
Kontron has published the complete specification and design guidelines for the nano Computer-on-Module format. This format is designed as an extension to the COM Express(tm) (COM.0) specification published by the PICMG to include credit card sized modules. The nano module format (84 mm x 55 mm), for which Kontron already offers products under the name nanoETXexpress, is designed as an extension to the PICMG COM Express(tm) specification.

Digi Introduces NS9215, NS9210 NET+ARM Microprocessors with FIM
Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII) introduced the NS9215 and NS9210, the industry’s first microprocessors to include Flexible Interface Modules (FIMs) that provide different hardware interfaces based on the needs of the product or application. FIMs reduce product design complexity and cost by cutting the number of electronic components in a product.

Kontron Introduces microETXexpress SP COM with Intel Atom Processor
Kontron unveiled the new Kontron microETXexpress-SP Computer-on-Module that is based on the Intel® Atom(tm) processor and offers full COM Express(tm) Pinout Type 2 compliance including SDVO graphics. The Kontron microETXexpress-SP Computer-on-Module is designed to extend the COM Express(tm) specification to include a small module format (95 x 95 mm) with the commonly used COM Express(tm) Type 2 connector.

Rabbit Updates Secure Embedded Web Application Kit

Wind River to Port Carrier Grade Linux, Workbench to Sun UltraSPARC T2
Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAVA) and Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:WIND) announced that Wind River will port its Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) and Workbench development suite to Sun’s UltraSPARC T2 chip multithreading (CMT) processor. Wind River Platform for Network Equipment, Linux Edition, will be the first carrier grade Linux for Sun’s CMT processors.

OIF Announces Serial Look-Aside Interface Implementation Agreement
