Cadence Design Systems, Inc. IAR Systems Rolls Out Starter Kit for ColdFire
IAR Systems has announced the launch of IAR KickStart Kit(TM) for ColdFire®. TI, Aptina Offer DM355IPNC-MT5 HD IP Network Camera Reference Design
Texas Instruments Incorporated, (NYSE: TXN) and Aptina Imaging, a division of Micron Technology Inc., announced that they are offering the DM355IPNC-MT5 high-definition (HD) IP network camera reference design based on TI’s DaVinci(TM) TMS320DM355 digital media processor and Aptina’s 5-megapixel HD security image sensor. With an electronic bill of materials (eBOM) costs of less than $40, video surveillance providers can now add these cameras to their existing systems.

Analog FastSPICE Simulates PLL Synthesizer with True SPICE Accuracy
Berkeley Design Automation, Inc., provider of Precision Circuit Analysis(tm) technology for advanced analog and RF integrated circuits (ICs), announced that the company’s Analog FastSPICE(tm) circuit simulator has delivered an industry first full-circuit PLL synthesizer performance simulation with true SPICE accuracy. The application is a wideband RFCMOS satellite TV tuner under development at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center at the University of California Berkeley.

Texas Instruments Rolls Out OPA2889 Voltage Feedback Amplifier
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced a high-speed, unity gain stable, voltage feedback amplifier that features more than 90 percent less power than devices with comparable slew rates in the market today. The new device’s unique architecture provides designers with high bandwidth and slew rate, coupled with a very low quiescent current, making it well-suited for portable instrumentation, active filters and analog-to-digital converter (ADC) buffers.

Design Automation Conference Releases Details of Technical Program
The Design Automation Conference (DAC) released the complete technical program for the 45th DAC, to be held June 8 – 12, 2008 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. This year’s technical program features 138 papers, selected from 639 submissions, offering design engineers, managers, researchers and developers insights on the latest results and emerging trends in the design of electronic circuits and systems, and EDA.

University of Notre Dame to Establish Nanoelectronics Research Center
Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from IBM, Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to announce plans to open a $61 million nanoelectronics research center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. The collaboration is designed to create new research opportunities that will lead to development of atomic-scale technologies and drive future breakthroughs in computing.
