The MathWorks Unveils EDA Simulator Link DS for System Verification
The MathWorks announced it now offers a continuous verification workflow that connects system-level models and algorithms developed in MATLAB and Simulink with digital hardware simulators from the three major EDA companies: Synopsys VCS MX functional verification solution, Mentor Graphics’ ModelSim and Questa, and Cadence Incisive Simulator.

Xilinx Debuts ISE Design Suite 10.1 for FPGA, Embedded, DSP Designers
Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) introduced the delivery of its ISE(R) Design Suite 10.1, a single unified release providing FPGA logic, embedded and DSP designers with immediate access to the company’s entire line of design tools with full interoperability. The ISE Design Suite 10.1 delivers significantly faster implementations with an average of 2X faster run times, allowing designers to complete more turns per day.

Cypress Rolls Out CapSense Express Capacitive Touch Sensing Solution
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) introduced the CapSense Express(tm) capacitive touch sensing solution for button and slider replacement. The CapSense Express solution enables designers to implement up to 10 buttons and/or sliders in as little as five minutes – with no coding. The PSoC Express(tm) visual embedded system design tool and CapSense Express configuration tool allow designers to monitor and tune the performance of the buttons and sliders in real time.

Calypto Launches PowerPro CG 2.0 RTL Power Optimization Tool
Calypto(tm) Design Systems Inc., the leader in sequential analysis technology, announced announced immediate availability of PowerPro(tm) CG 2.0, featuring new sequential clock-gating optimizations that extend its power savings capability to a wider range of design applications in storage and processor markets. MathWorks Creates EDA Simulator Link DS for Synopsys VCS MX
The MathWorks announced the availability of EDA Simulator Link DS, which provides a cosimulation link between MATLAB and Simulink and the Synopsys VCS MX functional verification solution. EDA Simulator Link DS enables reuse of system-level models as test benches for hardware description language (HDL) and register transfer level (RTL) implementations by coordinating the execution of Synopsys’ VCS MX solution with MATLAB code and Simulink models.

Kawasaki Microelectronics Licenses NSCore PermSRAM Nonvolatile Memory
NSCore, Inc., a supplier of nonvolatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), and Kawasaki Microelectronics, Inc. (K-micro), a leader in High-End ASICs, announced a licensing agreement that will add NSCore’s PermSRAM® embedded logic nonvolatile memory technology to K-micro’s ASIC intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
