Kontron, Quanta Computer Form Joint Venture in Asia
Kontron AG, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of embedded computer systems, is founding a joint-venture with the Taiwanese company Quanta Computer Inc., Taipei, the world’s largest manufacturer of laptops. As announced on March 6th. by the Executive Board of Kontron, the Taiwanese listed company and its affiliates are acquiring a 21% stake in Kontron Asia Inc., Taipei.

4DSP Launches JPEG2000 Hardware Compression Platform
A unique JPEG2000 hardware compression platform has been launched by 4DSP, an innovative design company based in the USA and Europe. Powered by Xilinx FPGA accelerators, the new system promises better image compression to meet the needs of next generation digital cameras, 4G infrastructure and headsets. In addition, medical, military and other precision imaging applications will benefit from improved compression performance.

Ethernet Direct Corporation announced the release of HUE-423S Industrial Unmanaged Slim Ethernet Switch. HUE-42S has 4 10/100TX and 2 single mode fiber ports. This entry-level 6-port industrial Ethernet switch supports IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x with 10/100M, full/half-duplex, and MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing RJ45 ports. HUE-423S is a slim Ethernet switch with DIN-Rail mountable housing, making it easy for the system to adopt more HUE-423S with its compact size.

InnoMax Launches ESE-Thin Next Generation Spin Etcher

Methode Electronics Acquires Tribotek
Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI), a global manufacturer of electronic components and subsystem devices, recently announced that it has acquired the business assets of Tribotek, Inc. Tribotek designs, develops and manufactures high current power connectors and power distribution systems for products such as power supplies, servers, rectifiers, inverters, robotics and automated test equipment, in addition to various military and telecommunications applications.
