GE Fanuc Introduces Telum 210 SAS AdvancedMC Module
GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms announced the Telum 210 SAS AdvancedMC module. The Telum 210 provides a reliable, scalable, high performance solution for critical applications that demand leading edge system storage capabilities including blade servers, network and telephony routers, and video streaming or surveillance through an onboard 73 GBytes or 146 GBytes serial-attached 10,000rpm SCSI (SAS) hard disk drive with an LSI 1064E SAS/SATA 3 Gbits/second controller.

MIPS Announces Silicon-Proven 96dB Audio IP Codec in DSM Processes
MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NasdaqGS: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard architectures, processors and analog IP for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, announced that its 96dB Audio IP Codec — already silicon-proven in multiple deep submicron processes and foundries — has been silicon-proven in TSMC 90nm and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing 130nm processes.

ABI Research Announces Ultra-Wideband Connectivity Report
In 2006 it appeared that the market launch of ultra-wideband (UWB) was imminent. Several factors conspired to delay that, but ABI Research now expects UWB to see very strong growth starting in 2008, finding its first success in laptops and computer peripherals, and eventually in mobile handsets. Forecasts indicate that shipments of UWB-enabled devices will grow from virtually nil today, to more than 400 million in 2013.
