Ansoft Announces Version 4 of Nexxim, Ansoft Designer
Ansoft Corporation (NASDAQ: ANST) has released new versions of Nexxim, a high-capacity circuit simulation software, and Ansoft Designer, its integrated schematic and design management software. The products include new statistical analysis and transient simulation capabilities that allow engineers to rapidly simulate high-speed serial channel behavior. This eliminates prototype iterations that require expensive test equipment and multiple spins that delay time-to-market.

NXP Launches SAA7231 Single Chip Triple Mode PCTV Solution
In a move to bring a high-quality anytime, anywhere TV viewing experience to ultra-mobile computers, NXP Semiconductors launched the world’s smallest single-chip PCTV solution – SAA7231 – that supports worldwide broadcast standards. Packaged in half the size of a minicard, NXP’s latest innovation is 40 percent power-efficient, saves OEMs up to 15 percent of total BOM (bill-of-materials) cost, and speeds up time-to-market under one month.

3M Creates Digital Camera MDR Cables for Machine Vision Applications
Design engineers in the machine vision industry now have more machine vision configuration options than before. The new 3M brand MDR Base Configuration Digital Camera Cable from the 3M Electronic Solutions Division completes 3M’s full line of cables to connect to all three performance tiers of Camera Link-style cameras: base, medium and full configurations. The digital camera cables mate to standard MDR 26-position camera connections.

ON Semiconductor Introduces NCP312x Dual Output PWM Buck Regulators
ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) introduced the NCP312x family of dual output pulse width modulation (PWM) buck regulators that offer unique auto-tracking and sequencing capabilities. Featuring integrated MOSFETs that deliver 2 amperes (A) (NCP3120, NCP3122) or 3 A (NCP3121, NCP3123) output current with switching frequency up to 2.2 megahertz (MHz), the new devices are ideal for a variety of consumer applications including set-top-boxes (STB), LCD-TVs and cable modems.

VESA DisplayID Standard Receives Product Support
VESA DisplayID Task Group member, Kontron, announces product support for the recently approved DisplayID specification, a new VESA standard that defines display data structures. Former specifications did not provide complete descriptions for embedded display interfaces. The Display-ID standard solves this problem. Kontron therefore sees Display-ID as the standard of choice for all new embedded display developments.

Kontron Introduces dFLAT PEG M72 Industrial PCI Express Graphics Card
With the high-performance dFLAT-PEG-M72 graphics card, Kontron extends its successful dFLAT product family with a new PCI Express Graphics (PEG) card for industrial applications. The high resolution digital graphics card supports resolutions up to QXGA, including HDTV and all other wide screen resolutions. The dFLAT-PEG-M72 supports the PCI Express Graphics (PEG) Standard. It is based on the Radeon Mobility of graphic controllers and comes with the HD2400 controller.
