TDK Sets Multilayer Capacitor ESR Values with New Internal Structure
TDK Corporation announced that it has developed the industry’s first multilayer ceramic chip capacitor with a new internal structure that allows ESR values to be set to any value within a specified range, stabilizes ESR values, and can control circuit impedance (alternating current resistance). Mass production of the capacitor, available in 1608 and 2012 configurations, began in February.

IGEL Announces Dictation, Speech Recognition for Linux, XP Embedded
IGEL Technology announced that they have partnered with Philips Speech Recognition Systems to bring advanced digital dictation and speech recognition solutions to its Linux firmware. This solution is expected to offer substantial savings and optimization potential in the healthcare sector because it enables attaching digitally captured findings directly to patient files where additional information can be added and stored.

Embedded World 2008 Features Impulse C-to-FPGA Solutions

TSMC to Fab Sun’s 45nm UltraSPARC CMT Processors
Sun Microsystems Inc. (Nasdaq:JAVA), the industry leader in multicore, multithreaded processors, announced that it has selected TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) as its foundry partner for processors based on 45-nanometer geometry as well as future generations. Sun partner Texas Instruments (TI) will continue to test and package the 45-nanometer processors.

ATEME Kyrion MPEG-4 AVC Encoding Powers Ultra HD Satellite Broadcast
