Trusted Labs Creates Protection Profile for (U)SIM Java Cards
Trusted Labs, a leader in security services ranging from risk analysis to evaluation, announces that it has developed a Common Criteria Protection Profile for open (U)SIM Java(tm) cards designed to host third-party security-sensitive applications, in a joint effort with other companies including French mobile operators Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR. The Protection Profile will soon be available for application providers and platform developers.

OmniVision Creates Smallest VGA CameraChip Sensor
Mobile World Congress — OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), the world’s largest supplier of CMOS image sensors, launched the world’s smallest VGA CameraChip sensor, the OV7690. The new 1/13-inch VGA sensor features the newest generation of OmniVision’s proprietary pixel architecture, OmniPixel3-HS, which delivers almost double the sensitivity and low-light performance (960mV/Lux-sec) of other low cost sensors.

Kineto UMA-enables Qualcomm 3G UMTS Chipsets
Kineto Wireless, the key innovator and leading supplier of UMA technology, announced that it has reached agreement with Qualcomm on a collaboration that will UMA-enable certain Qualcomm 3G UMTS chipsets. Aricent Creates HD Video/Audio Encoders, Decoders for TI OMAP3430
Aricent, a full-spectrum communications software company, announced that it has developed high-definition video and audio encoders and decoders (codecs) for Texas Instruments’ OMAP3430 processor-based mobile phones. By decoding 720p MPEG-4 Simple Profile video in real-time, Aricent has become one of the first companies to offer DVD-quality record and playback capabilities for a range of mobile devices such as mobile handsets, portable media players and automotive entertainment systems.

Sonic Focus Ports Audio Enhancement Technology to ARC Sound Platforms

Aeroflex/AT4 Wireless WiMAX PCT System Powers Redpine Signals Demo
Aeroflex has announced that Redpine Signals (Hall 2.1, Stand 2.1D75) will use the Aeroflex/AT4 wireless WiMAX Protocol Conformance Test System to facilitate live demonstrations of its subscriber station designs showcasing Mobile WiMAX and 802.11n WLAN connectivity using its Lite-NMAX convergence solution. Redpine Signals will be using the Aeroflex/ AT4 wireless PCT system to provide a simulated WiMAX network for the subscriber station to operate against.
