Sybase iAnywhere Unveils Blue SDK 3.0 Embedded Bluetooth Development
Sybase iAnywhere announced the availability of its Blue SDK 3.0, the latest version of the company’s leading embedded Bluetooth® software development kit. The new SDK provides support for the Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR specification enabling the use of the newest radio devices from companies such as Atheros Communications, Broadcom Corporation, CSR, Marvell, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments. The new Bluetooth wireless specification enables more secure communications and improves the ease of which Bluetooth wireless enabled devices can bond a connection.

NetLogic Microsystems Launches NL9000 Hybrid Knowledge-based Processor

Agilent, Altera Design Transceiver Model Library for Signal Integrity
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) announced the availability of its first-ever transceiver model library, developed in a collaboration with Altera Corp., a leading supplier of transceiver-based Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), for use with Agilent’s Advanced Design System EDA software. This multi-gigabit transceiver library reduces development costs and increases productivity compared with classical analog simulation methods for multi-GHz printed circuit board and backplane signal integrity design and analysis.

Pentek Rolls Out VME/VXS Board with AltiVec PowerPC, Virtex-4 FX FPGA

Ambarella A390 SoC Captures Simultaneous High-Res Stills, HD Video
Ambarella, Inc., a leader in low-power, high-definition video compression and image processing semiconductors, has introduced the A390, a system-on-a-chip (SoC) that simultaneously captures 8Mpixels still pictures while generating and compressing high-definition (HD) video in either 1080p60 or 1080i60 formats. The device stores still images in either RAW or compressed formats, implementing the JPEG standard at a rate of one picture per second without interrupting full HD-video recording. Working at a data capture rate as fast as 480Mpixels-per-second, the A390′s speed exceeds 60 frames-per-second at 8Mpixels.
