NEC Rolls Out V850ES/Fx3-L Microcontrollers for Automotive Systems
Addressing the growing demand for greater automation of in-vehicle comfort and safety systems, NEC Electronics Europe and NEC Electronics America, Inc. introduced 13 new 32-bit V850ES/Fx3-L(tm) microcontrollers (MCUs) that offer increased functionality at a low cost for automotive body and safety applications. As members of NEC Electronics’ F Series MCUs, the new 32-bit devices provide the price/performance ratio required for anti-theft mechanisms, climate control systems, airbags, hands-free systems and small thin-film-transistor (TFT) products.

TI Unveils ADCs for Compact Medical Imaging, Wireless Communications
A new family of 10- and 12-bit, eight-channel (octal) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) introduced by Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) features the industry’s lowest power consumption and smallest size. The new data converters enable smaller and more energy-efficient medical imaging, wireless communications, military guidance, automatic test equipment and video equipment. The ADS5281 family offers high resolution and sampling speeds of up to 65 million samples per second (MSPS), low noise performance and advanced digital features, which are critical in sensitive imaging applications like portable ultrasound and MRI equipment.

Peratech Acquires Eleksen’s Textile Fabric Sensor Portfolio
