Agilent Announces GoldenGate Quad-Pack Large-Scale RFIC Design Software
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) announced the industry’s first capability for multiple, parallel circuit simulations (Quad-Pack) from a single license in its GoldenGate RFIC simulation, analysis and verification software suite. The company also announced enhancements to the software’s Design-for-Yield (DFY) capabilities. The new features help boost large-scale RFIC productivity and speed wireless communications products to market.

Inphi Unveils First 25 Gbps Differential Mach-Zehnder Modulator Driver
Inphi® Corporation, the world leader in analog performance and signal integrity, announced the 2514DZ, the industry’s first 25 Gbps Differential Mach-Zehnder Modulator Driver. This product is the first to deliver large differential output voltage and the high data rates required for next-generation 40G Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) and 100G optical communications applications. The 2514DZ, with a differential output voltage up to 8.0 Vpp and data rates greater than 25 Gbps, works seamlessly with leading differential Mach Zehnder modulators from Fujitsu and Sumitomo Osaka Cement Company (SOCC).
Spectrum Control Rolls Out USB Connectors with EMI, ESD Protection
Spectrum Control has developed a series of USB connectors that incorporate EMI or ESD filters into an industry standard USB package. These connectors satisfy the requirements of the USB 2.0 spec, which calls for EMI and ESD protection according to industry specifications. This protection has become more of a challenge as less space is available for components and smaller IC chips are more susceptible to low-level damage. Spectrum has moved the EMI filtering or ESD protection to the USB connector allowing designers to free-up valuable PC board space for other components and provide better protection for the entire device.
