NXP Debuts Nexperia Cellular Multimedia Baseband PNX6712 for HSPA, EDGE
NXP Semiconductors, the independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, announced a feature-packed, ultra-small, single-core, dual-mode Nexperia Cellular Multimedia Baseband PNX6712 for HSPA and EDGE. Based on 65-nm process technology, it offers manufacturers advanced on-chip multimedia features, such as H.264 decoding on QVGA at 30 frames per second (fps). The PNX6712 forms the engine of NXP’s Nexperia Cellular System Solution 6712 – a powerful HSDPA/HSUPA/EDGE platform, enabling sub-$30 electronic bill-of-materials (eBoM).

VMETRO Ships MM-1200 6U XMC/PMC, VCX301 3U XMC Carriers
In December 2007, VMETRO continued to build momentum in its VPX (VITA 46) product line by shipping two new products, the MM-1200, an intelligent 6U XMC/PMC carrier, and VCX301, a 3U XMC carrier, to customers. These shipments demonstrate VMETRO’s commitment to provide innovative embedded computing solutions using high-speed serial interconnects including VXS (VITA 41) and VPX (VITA 46) for use in development and deployed systems. Dynapar Unveils Acuro AD34, AD35 Series Servomotor Absolute Encoders
Dynapar announces the introduction of the compact Acuro(TM) AD34 and AD35 Series absolute encoder. The new encoder utilizes the company’s proven OptoASIC engine for reliable absolute positioning and speed feedback up to 10,000 RPM. This high-speed capability coupled with an operating temperature range of up to 120oC makes it perfectly suited for use in servomotor applications.
