Geensys to Launch Reqtify 3.1 at Embedded World 2008

Mentor Debuts Catapult C Synthesis Accelerated Libraries for Virtex-5 FPGA
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced an extension to its industry leading ESL synthesis flow that enables users to implement even higher performance DSP hardware than previously achievable with Catapult for Xilinx devices. The new Catapult C Synthesis accelerated library for Xilinx 65nm Virtex-5 FPGAs features a pushbutton flow, delivering significant DSP Fmax performance improvements in the order of 50-80% over standard libraries.

IMEC to Create Research Center in Taiwan
IMEC officially established IMEC Taiwan in the Hsinchu Science Park. IMEC Taiwan initially starts as a representative office but is expected to grow into an R&D center within the coming 6 months. IMEC Taiwan aims to set up a win-win situation by facilitating the access for Taiwanese semiconductor companies to IMEC’s R&D programs and tap into the local high technology skills. The establishment of IMEC Taiwan follows several memoranda of understanding and collaborations between IMEC and leading Taiwanese companies, R&D institutes and universities, with the strong support of the National Science Council Taiwan.

Fujitsu Selects Catapult C Synthesis for Standard ASIC Design Kit
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that Fujitsu Limited has adopted the Catapult® C Synthesis tool to its standard ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) design kit. A number of electronic system level (ESL) synthesis tools were assessed in order to meet Fujitsu’s stringent requirements for quality standards. As a result, the Catapult C Synthesis tool was selected after exhaustive tests, and deployed for current design projects, which include two tapeouts in the last few months.
