CoFluent Design Launches CoFluent Reader Model Viewer, Player
CoFluent Design, an Electronic System Level (ESL) company focused on delivering state-of-the-art software solutions for early system architecture exploration and performance analysis, announced the release of CoFluent Reader, its model viewer and player. CoFluent Reader allows browsing and viewing freely graphical models captured with CoFluent Studio, CoFluent Design’s ESL visual architecture development environment. In addition, simulations of models can be played back for observing predicted behavioral, real-time and performance results.

VaST Announces Expanded Delphi Automotive Systems Virtualization Contract
VaST Systems, the leader in electronics virtualization, announced that Delphi Corp. (PINKSHEETS: DPHIQ) has expanded its contract with VaST to supply virtualization solutions. Delphi Electronics & Safety Division uses VaST’s solutions to help develop electronic control unit (ECU) software. VaST helps Delphi develop software without requiring hardware prototypes.

Ramtron FM31x Processor Companion Features Improved Trickle Charger, RTC
Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq: RMTR), a leading developer and supplier of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) and integrated semiconductor products, has announced that it has upgraded its FM31x Processor Companion family to include a more efficient trickle charger and a real-time clock (RTC) that requires only a standard 12.5pF external watch crystal. The new FM3127x/L27x Processor Companion features 4, 16, 64, or 256 kilobits (Kb) of nonvolatile F-RAM memory, a high-speed two-wire interface, and highly integrated support and peripheral functions for advanced processor-based systems.

Trolltech Licenses Qt Under GNU General Public License v3
Trolltech ASA is licensing its Qt cross-platform development framework under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPL v3), with immediate effect. Qt is already available under the GPL v2 and will continue to be so in addition to the GPL v3. The GPL v3 license will make it easy and safe for free software developers to use Trolltech’s Qt with the most recent license framework from the Free Software Foundation. Trolltech hopes that its move will inspire free software projects to use GPL v3 when programming with Qt.

STMicroelectronics Debuts STw5200 24-bit Hi-Fi DAC for Mobile Music
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a world leader in mobile multimedia, announced a very high-performance 24-bit audio DAC (digital-to-analog converter) that offers 103dB dynamic range across the entire audio path. Aimed at the mobile music market, the new STw5200 is available in small TFBGA and VFQFPN packages, and soon, in a tiny 2.6 x 2.6mm WLCSP. Simplifying the system design, the DAC can also be directly connected to the battery.
