Analog Devices Introduces ADF4157 Fractional-N PLL Synthesizer
Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, announced the ADF4157, a new high frequency, fractional-N PLL synthesizer for applications that require low phase noise and ultra-fine-tuning resolution, such as satellite communications, private mobile radios (PMR), instrumentation and wireless base station equipment, including those that support GSM, PCS, DCS, WiMAX, CDMA and W-CDMA networks. The 25-bit fixed-modulus divider provides for ultra-fine frequency resolution.

Micrel Creates Smallest Combination Buck Regulator/LDO
Micrel Inc., (Nasdaq: MCRL), an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, launched the MIC2225, an ultra-small dual channel power management IC that provides two high-performance outputs. The integration of a 2MHz synchronous buck regulator with an independent 300mA LDO offers portable electronics designers maximum flexibility for space constrained applications such as smart phones, GPS and digital still cameras. The MIC2225 is an ideal solution for applications where an additional set of voltages is needed to support an applications processor or co-processor. The MIC2225 is currently available in volume, with pricing at $1.30, for 1K quantities.

Agilent Develops N2X Multiservices Ethernet OAM Test Solution
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced the availability of the industry’s first single-platform solution for protocol emulation and conformance testing of Ethernet Operations, Administration and Maintenance (E-OAM). Network equipment manufacturers and service providers can use the Agilent N2X multiservices test solution to ensure their Carrier Ethernet devices meet E-OAM performance and scalability requirements, conform to new international standards, and interoperate in very large multi-vendor networks. As a single platform tool, N2X more rapidly and cost-effectively enables the deployment of reliable voice, video and data services over an Ethernet infrastructure.

WiQuest Receives WiMedia Platform Certification for UWB Solutions
WiQuest Communications, Inc. the leading, fabless semiconductor company developing complete ultrawideband (UWB) silicon, software and reference design solutions, announced that it is among the first to obtain official WiMedia Alliance platform certification for both the company’s Certified Wireless USB Hub and Adapter. Realtek Receives WiMedia Platform Certification for UWB Controllers
Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 2379.TW), one of the world’s largest IC design houses and a market leader in Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, announced that its RTU7300 ultra-wideband Media Access Controller (MAC) and RTU7105 single-chip combined ultra-wideband MAC and physical layer (PHY) solution have each achieved approval as WiMedia Certified Platforms, as part of the first set of platform certifications from the WiMedia Alliance. The certification establishes the full compliance of the RTU7300 and RTU7105 with the WiMedia MAC specification, which is designed to enable flexible formation of wireless personal area networks and coexistence between devices supporting different protocols, including Certified Wireless USB, next-generation Bluetooth, and IP-over-UWB.

NemeriX appoints Luc Seraphin, Jacques Combet as Managing Directors
Shortly after completing a CHF 27m Series-C funding, and in anticipation of a new A-GPS navigation solution release, NemeriX announced that it has appointed Mr. Luc Seraphin and Mr. Jacques Combet as Managing Directors. Luc Seraphin, who was promoted internally to Managing Director from VP World-Wide Sales & Business Development, originally joined NemeriX from Agere Systems, where he was EVP & General Manager of the Mobile Terminals Division.
