Semiconductor Chip Sales Grow by 2.2% to $20.6 Billion in July
Worldwide sales of semiconductors increased in July, growing to $20.6 billion, an increase of 2.2 percent over July 2006 and an increase of 3.2 percent from June of this year, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported today. In July 2006 global microchip sales were $20.1 billion, and in June 2007 total sales amounted to $20 billion. Growth was mainly attributable to increases in sales of microprocessors, MOS logic devices, and NAND flash memory products.

More than 70 1394 devices are delivering information about mission details, communication systems, weapon systems, engine controls, and flight controls. Lockheed Martin Corporation and its partner contractors selected the 1394b network standard after a trade study of other networking options including USB, Fibre Channel, and military standard 1553.
