Ardence, a Citrix Company, announced the release of Version 8.0 of RTX(R), its market-leading, real-time extension for Windows(R), and application software development tool suite. V8.0 supplements existing RTX functionality by supporting the Windows Vista operating system and Windows Vista for Embedded Systems.

SMSC Launches Closed-Loop Fan Controllers, Temperature Sensors
SMSC (Nasdaq: SMSC) announced the introduction of its new family of fan controllers, the EMC210x family, with four new devices (EMC2103, EMC2104, EMC2105 and EMC2106) featuring technologies that employ RPM closed-loop control and manage multiple temperatures. In addition, SMSC is launching three new SMBus temperature sensors (EMC1046, EMC1047 and EMC1428) for systems requiring a high level of temperature monitoring. All of these devices are designed for smaller geometries, such as 45nm, that are typically associated with this level of monitoring and are used in flat screen TV, PC, printer and server applications.

ROHM Licenses NSCore's PermSRAM Nonvolatile Memory
NSCore, Inc., a supplier of nonvolatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), announced an agreement under which NSCore's PermSRAM technology is licensed to ROHM (TOKYO:6963), a Japanese leading semiconductor manufacturer for use throughout its logic products. NSCore's PermSRAM will enable high-performance embedded non-volatile memory solution in ROHM's SoC designs for their Consumer, Communication and all other applications.
