Microchip Introduces MCP140X Single-Output MOSFET Drivers
Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, announced the MCP1401 and MCP1402 (MCP140X) single-output MOSFET drivers. The inverting MCP1401 and non-inverting MCP1402 MOSFET drivers are rated for a peak output current of 0.5A, over a wide operating voltage range of 4.5V – 18V. TSMC Features Apache’s Products in Reference Flow 8.0

TSMC Reference Flow 8 Features Altos’ Variety Statistical Static Timing
Altos Design Automation Inc. announced that TSMC Reference Flow 8.0 includes Altos’ statistical timing model generator Variety(tm). Reference Flow 8.0 supports 45nm process technology and is the latest generation of TSMC’s design methodology intended to increase yields, lower risks and reduce design margins. The new flow includes support for the creation of libraries to enable statistical static timing analysis (SSTA).
ZTE Selects Ansoft Solution for Signal, Power Integrity
Ansoft Corporation (NASDAQ:ANST) announced a strategic partnership with ZTE Corporation (000063.SZ, 0763.HK), China’s largest listed telecommunications equipment provider of customized network solutions for telecom carriers worldwide. Using Ansoft signal and power integrity analysis software, ZTE engineers are now able to predict radiated emissions and induced interference from printed circuit boards (PCBs) and to examine multiple PCBs within a cabinet to determine trends for system-level emission. The new design methodology has allowed ZTE to eliminate expensive build-test-repeat iterations in their design cycle.
Gleichmann Announces NEC’s 32-bit V850E/IF3, V850E/IG3 MCUs
NEC Electronics’ (distribution: Gleichmann Electronics) two new 3-phase control device families, V850E/IF3 and V850E/IG3, open up all kinds of new application possibilities. Key features of these devices, based on the 32-bit V850E1 core, include two integrated 16-bit 3-phase timers with 6-phase PWM output function. These allow controlling two 3-phase motors simultaneously and independently. These devices also incorporate other key features for optimized motor control, such as dead time generation and direct shut down for power transistor protection. The PWM frequency is freely selectable; the duty-cycle adjustable between 0% and 100%. The pwm-registers are written via an additional series buffer register. A reduction in CPU load is achieved by means of intelligent interrupt management respectively interrupt filtering. Power factor correction (PFC) is easily implemented with additional timers.
