VITA Revises Patent Disclosure Policy, Receives ANSI Re-Accreditation
VITA, the trade association dedicated to fostering American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited, open-system architectures in critical embedded system applications, announced that it has been re-accredited by ANSI effective May 22, 2007.

Cypress Hosts Capacitive Sensing Interface Webinar
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) announced that it will host a free online seminar that explores integration of capacitive sensing interfaces with additional functionality. ST, Gemalto Create Turnkey Microcontroller for Smart Card Readers
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) announced a single-chip microcontroller solution intended for both PC-integrated and freestanding smart-card applications resulting from a partnership agreement with Gemalto – a world leader in digital security and the world’s leading supplier of smart-card readers. The new ST7GEM is a secure MCU in ST’s ST7 family, pre-programmed with smart-card interface software from Gemalto, and requiring the addition of only a few passive external components to become a complete embedded smart-card reader solution.

AMD Debuts Sempron Processor 2100+, Geode LX 800 for Embedded Designs
AMD (NYSE:AMD) announced an expansion of its Embedded Solutions offerings to include the new AMD Sempron(TM) Processor Model 2100+ and the AMD Geode(TM) LX 800 @ 0.9W Processor, which can now support designs to be deployed in harsh temperature environments. The addition of these new features in AMD’s broad embedded product portfolio showcases AMD’s commitment to delivering processor options that address the expanding and often unique needs of the embedded market. Renesas Rolls Out 32 New Microcontrollers
Renesas Technology America, Inc. announced a significant expansion of the popular M16C family of 16-bit microcontrollers, adding 12 M16C/64 group models and 20 M16C/65 group models for car audio, home audio, and similar consumer products, as well as industrial applications. The new devices, successors to those in the current M16C/62P group, offer the flexibility customers need to quickly implement system functional enhancements and version upgrades of embedded system designs. The new microcontrollers are fully compatible with the previous-generation products, maximizing the value of customers’ engineering investments.

Sonics Rolls Out MemMax RD Memory Scheduler
