OSGi Alliance Releases Core Specification 4.1
The OSGi Alliance announced the release of the new OSGi Service Platform Release 4 Core Specification Version 4.1 in response to requirements received from the Java(TM) Community Process (JCP) Java Specification Request 291 (JSR 291) Expert Group. The JSR 291 Expert Group has completed its work and JSR 291 is now a final Java Standard Edition / Enterprise Edition specification. JSR 291 provides a framework for packaging Java applications as interdependent modules with dynamic lifecycle management, reducing development time and minimizing down time.

Intel Debuts Digital TV Dual Channel Demodulators for Devices
Intel Corporation unveiled its first Digital TV dual channel demodulators for the consumer electronics (CE) market segment that is housed on a single piece of silicon. The demodulator extracts the digital channel from the target broadcast signal to deliver high-quality broadcast TV reception.

MainConcept, InterQoS to Create Embedded Solution for Mobile Gadgets
MainConcept, the world’s leading provider of high quality codec technology, announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with InterQoS, a semiconductor company based in Hong Kong, to jointly develop and market a complete embedded solution capable of addressing the needs of mobile video gadgets. EVE Pre-Verifies IBM PowerPC 405, 440 SoC Designs with ZeBu UF

Concurrent Introduces CompactPCI Dual PMC SBC with Core 2 Duo
Concurrent Technologies announces its latest range of single slot 6U CompactPCI(R) embedded computers using the latest mobile dual-core processors from the Intel(R) embedded roadmap. The PP 432/05x board supports the 2.16 GHz or 1.5 GHz Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor and the PP 430/05x board supports the 2.0 GHz Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor. Each board can access up to 4 Gbytes DDR2-400 ECC SDRAM (dual SODIMM). For I/O flexibility there are 2 PMC/XMC sites supporting both front and rear I/O, plus 3 SATA drives, 3 RS232, 4 USB 2.0 and 4 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
