Sharp Introduces 4.3-inch Industrial Mobile Display
Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas has introduced a 4.3-inch industrial-grade LCD display designed for mobile and portable-use applications. The LQ043T1DG01 is a highly-integrated display with touch panel that will complement any handheld or portable device design. The display delivers superior performance in brightness and contrast, operates over a broad temperature range, and features a wide viewing angle; all while conserving power.

Intel, Micron Sample 50nm Multi-Level Cell NAND Flash Memory
Intel Corporation and Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE:MU), announced they are sampling industry-leading 50 nanometer (nm) multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory manufactured by their NAND flash memory joint venture, IM Flash Technologies. The new MLC NAND flash memory components feature a world-class die and cell size ideally suited for use in today’s computing and consumer electronics devices that are increasingly smaller and more efficient themselves. The 50nm MLC technology, sampling at a 16 gigabit (Gb) die density, complements the previously announced 50nm single-level cell (SLC) products that the companies are shipping today at a 4 Gb die density.

Sonics, Denali Address Memory Bandwidth Optimization
Sonics Inc., a premier supplier of system-on-chip (SoC) SMART Interconnect solutions, and Denali Software, Inc, a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software and intellectual property (IP) for system-on-chip (SoC) design and verification, announced a collaborative effort to address memory bandwidth optimization through the pairing of Sonics SMART Interconnect solutions and Denali Databahn DDR memory controllers. Companies using both Sonics SMART Interconnect solutions and Denali’s Databahn are now able to quickly and efficiently deploy memory subsystems and on-chip interconnects to deliver optimal memory bandwidth utilization for multi-core SoC designs.

HD Radio Rebate Program
A new HD Radio Rebate Program in celebration of Moms, Dads and Grads was announced today that will effectively reduce HD Radio receiver prices by $40. The program applies to most HD Radio receivers – from tabletops to car connect adapters – and runs from April 29 through July 3, 2007.

Ponte Solutions Receives $7.5 Million in Series B Funding
Ponte Solutions(TM), a DFM solutions company, announced it has raised $7.5 million in Series B funding, bringing total funding to date to $17 million. In addition, Ponte has added industry luminaries Michael Smayling to its technical advisory board, and longtime semiconductor manufacturing and EDA executive, Michael Buehler-Garcia, as its new vice president of marketing and business development.
