Concurrent AD CR3/PMC PMC Carrier Board

Posted by Ken Cheung in Boards, Busses on Thursday, March 15, 2007

The AD CR3/PMC, from Concurrent Technologies, is a non-intelligent dual PMC carrier board. It is designed to provide extra PMC sites to enable standard and custom I/O requirements to be implemented using industry standard PMC modules in VME systems. The AD CR3/PMC enables system I/O, graphics, data processing and network interfaces to be added to the existing functionality of a range of Concurrent Technologies’ VME Single Board Computers (SBC). Extended temperature options are available.

Concurrent AD CR3/PMC Dual PMC Carrier BoardThe AD CR3/PMC accommodates two single or one dual width, 32 or 64-bit, PMC modules conforming to the IEEE 1386 standard. Both PMC sites support 33/66MHz, 3.3V PCI signaling, and both sites support dual function modules and non-Monarch processor PMC modules. I/O from each of the PMC sites can be taken through the front panel or through the rear panel using the P2 connector (PMC site 1) and the optional P0 connector (PMC site 2). The I/O pin mapping is compliant with ANSI/VITA 35-2000 P4V0-64 and P4V264ac PMC I/O wiring standards. As an option the AD CR3/PMC will also support, alongside the two PMC sites, an onboard EIDE disk drive and/or onboard CompactFlash(TM) drive. The EIDE interface connects to an external EIDE controller, available on most Concurrent Technologies VME host SBCs.

The AD CR3/PMC PMC sites’ PCI bus communicates with the VME host SBC via an existing PMC or XMC site on the host SBC via a PCI Express(TM) interface.
