ARC Expands ConfigCon Developers Conferences
ARC International (LSE:ARK) announced that the successful ConfigCon(TM) developers conference series is expanding in 2007 to include additional regions active in next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) development. The 2007 ConfigCon conference series will leverage the momentum established by the 2006 program, where more than 1,000 attendees participated in events in Taiwan, China, and Silicon Valley.

Xilinx, NSA Create Virtex-4 FPGA-based Cryptographic Solution
Xilinx Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the world’s leading supplier of programmable solutions, announced the results of a joint technology development project with The National Security Agency (NSA) consistent with the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Crypto Modernization initiatives. Enabled by Xilinx Virtex(TM)-4 FPGAs, the new design flow and verification process provides the industry’s first FPGA-based single chip cryptographic solution. Silicon Canvas Adds DFM Automation to Laker IC Design Tools
Silicon Canvas, developer of the Laker suite of high-performance tools for custom IC design, announced the rollout of the first automated DFM (Design for Manufacturability) features designed for designers. Laker, the pioneer of Controllable Automation in custom design now offers built-in DFM features that need no scripting and support advanced design requirements such as multiple rule sets; conditional rules; recommended rules; discrete gate spacing; minimum area rules; routing jog avoidance; and more. DFM rules are supported in Laker’s patented M-cell(TM) device generator; during physical layout; and during placement and routing, as appropriate. Additional DFM rules are being developed on an on-going basis and will be rolled out as they become available.
