  • Microchip Introduces PICkit Serial Analyzer Serial Communication Tool
    Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, announced the PICkit(TM) Serial Analyzer, the latest offering in the popular PICkit development tool series. This new tool enables design engineers to easily interface with circuits that are embedded deep within serial systems using any Windows(R)-based PC, for a very low initial investment.
  • STMicroelectronics Offers 1Mbit Serial EEPROM in SO8 Narrow Package
    STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a world leader in serial non-volatile memory ICs, announced a new 1-Mbit serial EEPROM – the M24M01 – which is available in the tiny SO8N package with 150-mil (3.8mm) body width; this serial EEPROM is the only device in the market to squeeze this high memory density into such a small package. Also offered in SO8W, the chip, with its I2C two-wire serial interface, is intended for applications such as consumer electronics products and medical equipment which needs to store large amounts of frequently changing parameter data. ST’s I2C EEPROM family now offers 1-Kbit to 1-Mbit devices -the broadest portfolio on the market.

    Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) announced that STMicroelectronics has taped out a 65-nanometer, next-generation mixed-signal communications design using the Cadence(R) Space-Based Router and achieved a faster tapeout with improved routing, design performance and manufacturability.
  • Microsoft Makes Direct Push into Palm OS Based Treo Smartphones
    Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq:PALM) announced availability of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync(R) Update for Palm OS(R) devices for the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 680 and Treo 700p smartphones. Palm OS based Treo smartphones have long been able to use Exchange ActiveSync(R) to access Microsoft Exchange Server information using Palm’s VersaMail(R) email client. The new update enhances VersaMail by adding Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology, which gives users connected to an Exchange Server fast, automatic wireless updates of email, calendar and contact information.
  • Curtiss Wright Inter-Processor Communications Software Available
    Mistral Solutions, a leading player in the niche real-time embedded and telecom solutions sector, has announced the availability of the latest version of the popular Inter-Processor Communications (IPC) software library – the IPC 2.0 from Curtiss Wright Embedded Computing.     Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ:CATS), a supplier of analog, mixed-signal and non-volatile memory semiconductors, launched three new families of voltage supervisors with the industry’s broadest selection of embedded memory. The CAT130xx supervisor family offers 1-, 4-, 8- and 16-kbit embedded EEPROM with Microwire serial interface. The CAT140xx and CAT150xx provide 2-, 4-, 8- and 16-kbit embedded EEPROM with I2C and SPI serial interface protocols, respectively.
  • Kineto Wireless Enables BenQ UMA Dual-Mode Handsets
