Innovasic Semiconductor, a leader in replacement integrated circuit (IC) and microcontroller solutions, today announced that it has now shipped over one million replacement ICs. Innovasic produces replacement ICs using its MILES(TM) (Managed IC Lifetime Extension System) technology. MILES, in combination with copyrighted software and advanced EDA tools, allows the company to efficiently develop a fully compatible replacement for discontinued ICs. The acquisition of new core competencies will be combined with nLight's semiconductor laser technology to expand nLight's product portfolio. - Silterra, eMemory Collaborate on Neobit CMOS Logic OTP Memory
Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and eMemory Technology today announced that the companies have verified the Neobit(TM) one-time-programmable (OTP) memory on Silterra's 0.18-micron CL180G and CL180H CMOS process technologies. Silterra, a prominent wafer foundry based in Malaysia, and eMemory, a leading provider of embedded non-volatile memory intellectual property (IP), have also collaborated on the 0.13-micron CL130G version of the design, which is ready for silicon validation. - NEC Develops IMAPCAR Image Processor for Automotive Safety Systems
NEC Electronics Corporation and NEC Corporation, with support from Toyota Motor Corporation and Denso Corporation ("Denso"), today introduced the IMAPCAR(R) image processor for automobiles, which can detect nearby objects such as vehicles, pedestrians, and lane markers in real-time, enabling automobile manufacturers to easily implement safety mechanisms and collision prevention systems. IMAPCAR will be featured in the pre-crash safety system of the new Lexus LS460 developed by Toyota, scheduled to be available this autumn.
