Birdstep Intelligent Mobile IP Client

The Birdstep Intelligent Mobile IP Client has followed an open, standards-based approach to provide seamless roaming for operators and enterprises. Experience gathered through work with various customers has provided us with the know-how to improve this standards-based, VPN-agnostic roaming model. With the next generation of our Mobile IP client, based on a ground breaking "best-of-breed" VPN design approach, we have been able to maintain our tradition of supporting existing standards and network infrastructure. In addition, we have solved key issues regarding the support of 3rd party VPN solutions. The most important features requested from both network operators and enterprises have been the following:

  1. Ability to turn VPNs on and off
  2. Support for NAT Traversal based on the IETF draft proposal and Cisco's implementation
  3. Automatic configuration of the client to simplify large-scale deployment

The new Birdstep Intelligent Mobile IP Client 2.0 Universal Edition meets all these requirements and more. The solution caters to both operator and enterprise deployments.
