Kontron microETXexpress Starterkit for Compact COM Express Class
The Kontron microETXexpress Starterkit features the Kontron microETXexpress-SP or -DC Computer-on-Modules (95 x 95 mm) based on the Intel Atom series processors and the Kontron ETXexpress miniBaseboard. Starterkits are also available for evaluation with other microETXexpress modules. The Kontron microETXexpress evaluation kit are ideal for developers new to the compact class of COM Express. The Kontron microETXexpress Starterkit comes with the complete embedded hardware — including the cables, a very small Power Supply Unit called picoPSU combined with a 12V desktop power supply and an active cooler.
DSPCon DataFlex-515 Real-Time Data Recorder
DSPCon announced the DataFlex-515 real-time data recorder. The DataFlex-515 weighs less than 20 pounds and features dual 500 Gbyte hard disk drives, real-time playback, display and analysis, and provides a sustained, continuous recording speed of up to 256,000 samples per second. The data recorder is compatible with a variety of common file formats — including DATX/CATS, UFF58, CSV, and ATI. Two hot-swappable, dual-lithium-ion battery packs provide a total of 100 watts of output power and 190-watt-hours of capacity resulting in an impressive four hours of continuous operation in the field. It is available now for immediate delivery.

Innovasic Semiconductor are shipping engineering samples of the IA186XL and IA188XL 16-Bit microcontrollers. The IA186XL and IA188XL are form, fit, and function compatible with the original Intel 80C186XL and 80C188XL 16-bit high-integration embedded processors. They can also be use as replacements for the Intel base 80C186 and 80C188 devices. The Innovasic version supports internal 20-25 MHz operation and is industrial temperature grade.

The Zilog Z8523L Enhanced SCC (ESCC) is a low-voltage serial communications controller (SCC) for a variety of computing applications requiring increased performance and lower power consumption. The Zilog Z8523L reduces the voltage from 5 to 3.3 volts and is ideal for computer peripherals, networking equipment, and routers. The Zilog Z85230 Enhanced SCC is available now.
Texas Instruments MSP430F471xx Microcontrollers for e-Metering
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced the ultra-low power MSP430F471xx microcontroller (MCU) series. The F471xx system-on-chip metering solution features simultaneous sampling of voltage and current as well as tamper-detection for efficient and reliable energy measurement. The MSP430F471xx microcontrollers are ideal for three-phase e-metering applications. The devices are fully compatible with the $149 MSP-FET430U100A flash emulation tool and e-meter EVM. F471xx MCUs are priced between $5.75 and $7.95 for 1K units and are available now along with the $75 MSP-TS430PZ100A target board.
