White Electronic Designs Corporation (WEDC)
White Electronic Designs Corporation (WEDC) was created in October 1998 by the merger of White Microelectronics and Electronic Designs, Inc. The resulting company was a leading provider of state-of-the-art semiconductor memory products supporting the telecommunications and data communications markets and one of the largest providers of memory products to the US military. In January 2001, WEDC acquired Panelview, Inc. a top supplier of enhanced flat panel display products based in Portland, Oregon. In January 2003, WEDC acquired Interface Data Systems, Inc (IDS) based in Phoenix, Arizona. IDS designs and manufactures keypads, graphic overlays and sensors for original equipment manufacturers.
Today, WEDC is a global provider of advanced technology solutions. Although core strengths lie in providing leading edge microelectronic solutions, WEDC also offers enhanced display products, a variety of keypads, graphic overlays and biosensors that can be manufactured for extreme environmental conditions. System integration capabilities allow WEDC to combine all of these elements into a fully integrated product.
