Vector Fields

Vector Fields Ltd is the leading supplier of electromagnetic (EM) analysis and design software to industry, universities, and research establishments throughout the world. Using state of the art modeling techniques such as finite element (FEM/FEA), finite difference time domain (FDTD), and Moment method (MoM), the code is well suited to a wide range of low and high frequency applications.

Vector Fields offers a complete range of two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) electromagnetic design, modeling, analysis and simulation software. An extensive research and development program ensures Vector Fields software remains at the forefront of this important technology for the benefit of its customers.

The roots of the company go back to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the research and development work of the Computing Applications group 1969-1984. This team pioneered several magnetic computer codes (GFUN, PE2D and TOSCA). Vector Fields was legally established in August 1984 and then commenced trading in January 1985. The USA headquarters was opened in Aurora, IL in 1989. In June 2005, Vector Fields was acquired by Cobham plc.
