Software Debugging Targeted At Embedded Software Designs

Hardware-software (HW-SW) co-verification methodology allows embedded system software to be executed on a simulated representation of the hardware design. However, existing solutions has not focused on software debugging. A true co-verification product must provide control and visibility for both software and hardware engineers with types of tools they are familiar with, at the level of abstraction they are familiar with. This paper examines software debugging methodology targeted specifically at software engineers. By using Xpert, Axis' HW-SW co-verification solution, software engineer can debug their code with required performance and usability.
