PMC-SCI Functional Overview

This document is a functional overview of the PMC-SCI Adapter Card (PCI Mezzanine Card Adapter Card). The PMC-SCI Adapter Card support the Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI) protocols defined by the ANSI/IEEE 1596/1992 standard. The PMC-SCI Adapter Card provides a high throughput, low latency, transparent, memory-mapped link between PCI/PMC based computers and workstations and embedded systems like VMEbus computers. The basic module is the PMC-SCI Adapter Card. PCI and VME configurations are possible by combining the basic module and suitable adapters or carrier cards from other vendors.
