Open Systems Specification Framework

This document provides the framework of a comprehensive specification for a building automation system. It has been prepared to assist the Building Construction Industry in designing and implementing open Building Automation Systems (BAS) using ANSI/EIA standard 709.1, also known as the LonTalk protocol. ‘LONWORKS technology' refers to the hardware and software components that use or support this protocol. This system specification framework leverages the product interoperability standards defined by the LONMARK Association as well as the industry standard LONWORKS Network Services (LNS) technologies.
