New Solutions for Reconfigurable Electronics: Developing prototypes and reconfigurable equipment with Celoxica and Wind River

The last decade has seen FPGAs evolve from a few hundred logic gates to become sophisticated platforms for strategic design. This rapid evolution is encouraging customers to take a fresh look at the potential of reconfigurable devices. It is also driving the development of tools and intellectual property (IP) that take FPGAs into new areas. One such area is co-processor acceleration. This paper looks at new technologies for closely coupling FPGAs to CPUs for a new breed of highly flexible embedded system that delivers new levels of performance.
