Multimedia Applications for Embedded Internet Appliances Using NetPeer
When designing a multi-media based appliance, it is critical to carefully evaluate how network connectivity adds value to the device. A network connection alone is worthless without specific applications for control or intercommunication. However, implementing a rich, multi-system network application from scratch is not a trivial endeavor. Fortunately, NetPeer offers a complete solution by providing a distributed environment and a remote desktop interface to embedded devices. It provides a developer the resources and flexibility to implement robust, networked applications between embedded systems and remote workstations. This paper identifies and describes several multimedia applications using NetPeer that would significantly benefit from internetworking.
