Encapsulating Java on Embedded Systems

The Software Co-Processor for Java (JSCP) is an enhanced Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and classes, designed and equipped to be used in embedded applications. This technical note discusses how JSCP encapsulates Java threads into a single task running under a real-time operating system (RTOS), and why this limits the negative effects that embedding a new application written in Java might have on an existing non-Java real-time application.
