Embedded Software Scalability for Memory-Constrained ColdFire Designs
Embedded application developers are required to carefully manage their use of memory resources in order to save costs. New microprocessors such as Freescale's ColdFire MCF5282 have a significant amount of on-chip flash and RAM which can reduce the costs of off-chip memory. In order to take advantage of this cost reduction you need to be able to run a application within the confines of on-chip memory provided. What is required is an easily scalable embedded software package to allow developers to pick the exact functionality that they need from the software and maximize the use of their memory resources. This white paper will look at taking advantage of the integrated on-chip features on Freescale ColdFire processors with scalable embedded software products.
