DIME – The first module standard for FPGA based High Performance Computing

FPGAs are offering a novel mechanism for the development of new architectures in high performance computing. Constructing a system with a single FPGA node is a simple exercise, however to construct a scalable system requires a sound foundation. A modular system, DIME, for constructing multiple FPGA systems is introduced which is based on the experiences of traditional distributed parallel processing approaches.
