Auspex 4Front NS2000 System Architecture

This report introduces a new system architecture designed to store, manage and deliver data to network clients. The 4Front NS 2000 hardware design is based on industry-standards such as Intel processors and PCI adapters integrated into simple yet powerful subsystems called I/O Nodes. In combination with an UltraSPARC Host Node, multiple I/O Nodes can be connected using the Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI) to create a hardware architecture that scales to provide vast amounts of storage and network connectivity. Each I/O Node supports multiple network connections‹including all popular network interfaces‹and connects directly to a terabyte or more of disk storage.
