Advantages of S.100 for Developers
A new and exciting development environment alternative is now available for innovative telephony applications, such as call processing, interactive voice response, enhanced call services, automated attendant, and unified messaging. This environment is defined by S.100, a component of the standards-based Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum (ECTF) architecture. This paper gives a brief introduction to the S.100 architecture and development environment and shows some of the advantages that it brings in building flexible, scalable and distributed computer telephony applications. In addition, this paper also gives valuable insight into RealComm 100, the industry's first implementation of the ECTF S.100 Revision 2 specification, developed by Brooktrout Technology.
