PORTOS

PORTOS is a new kind of RTOS based on the concepts of priority functions and priority objects. It is meant to simplify the programming of real time embedded systems, and to improve their performance. Context switches are essentially inexistant. Modularity is higher. PORTOS is still under development. Powerful and innovative features will be added soon.

The PORTOS software is free to download for personal use. The software, or any parts of it, cannot be reproduced in a commercial product without a license. The software consists of the current PORTOS library (kernel), test code, and an example to validate the concept. The example is a mini-modem with layers 1, 2, 3 and more. The software is not entirely tested and will not run, as is, on real time targets. It has been tested in non real time environments under Linux and Windows.
