MOVEit Crypto
MOVEit® Crypto Linux and MOVEit Crypto Windows are standalone, certified, Intel-based private key cryptographic software products developed by Standard Networks for use by database, application, and systems programmers. These products are among the very first to achieve the stringent software validation requirements of Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2, an important and widely accepted cryptographic seal of approval.
FIPS 140-2 validation means the MOVEit Crypto products have undergone extensive review by an independent testing laboratory accredited under the Cryptographic Module Validation (CMV) Program run by U.S. National Institute of Standards (NIST) and the Canadian government's Communications Security Establishment (CSE).
The MOVEit Crypto products are fast, compact, dynamically linked libraries that provide an easy-to-use application programming interface (API) to these algorithms:
- AES Encryption (128-bit, 192-bit, and 256-bit keys)
- SHA-1 Hashing
- HMAC-SHA-1 Keyed Hashing
- Pseudo-random number generation (FIPS 186-2)
AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is the NIST approved replacement for DES and Triple DES encryption. The MOVEit Crypto products also include these non-FIPS algorithms:
- MD5 Message-Digest Hashing (RFC 1321)
- HMAC-MD5 Keyed Hashing (RFC 2104)
MOVEit Crypto Linux runs on all current major distributions, including Red Hat, and on FreeBSD with Linux ABI support. MOVEit Crypto Linux can also run on Linux embedded systems. MOVEit Crypto Windows runs on 2003/XP/2000/98/95/NT 4.0. MOVEit Crypto Windows is also used by our MOVEit DMZ secure transfer and storage server and MOVEit Central secure file transfer and processing super-client to securely store files, messages, and data they handle.
