3/13/2006 - SIDSA, the international provider of digital TV, IP TV, Mobile TV and broadband solutions, products and services, is fully breaking into the IPTV market with the launch of Ether TV, the perfect solution for IP-based multimedia distribution.
Ether TV is a professional IP gateway for digital TV since it is able to receive any digital TV signal –through satellite, cable or via terrestrial- and covert into independent IP multicast streams. It is a key element to provide live TV streaming in triple play networks, and is able to distribute an unlimited number of TV channels to an unlimited number of viewers equipped with IP set-top-box or PCs.
Ether TV is ideal for both centralised systems, such as hotels, public buildings, enterprises, resident’s associations, among others, and for more complex environments with large ISPs.
Ether TV has a modular rack architecture that allows a cost-effective, scalable and economical solution, along with a flexible remote-controlled management of the system.
The launch of Ether TV comes at a time when IPTV is taking off throughout the world. It is estimated that by 2010 there will be 27 million households receiving IPTV. According to IMS Research, the IPTV growth will be driven by Europe and Asia, with Western Europe leading the worldwide IPTV market through the end of the decade, with approximately 12.9 million households by 2010.
