2/17/2006 - PageOne, the UK's foremost supplier of wireless messaging technology and services, today announces that its work with Birmingham's Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust in Teenage Pregnancy Antenatal care, achieved 'Highly Commended' status in the 2006 GSM Association Awards.
The 'Best Mobile Community Service or Initiative' category highlighted community work undertaken by companies in the mobile sector.
Already the recipient of the 'All Parliamentary Group on Maternity award for innovative practices', the scheme uses PageOne's Connect service (Connect is a desktop, web-based mobile messaging system capable of connecting with all paging, mobile and e-mail networks). This service has enabled pregnant teenagers to receive antenatal clinic reminders and health tips via their mobile phones, and allows midwives to stay in touch with the teenagers in between clinical visits. Important advice on diet, smoking, alcohol and other issues affecting pregnancy is also provided through the scheme. The system reinforces to the teenagers that there are people who are interested in their well-being and who want to make the experience of pregnancy as easy and comfortable as possible for them.
Chris Jones, Managing Director of PageOne said. "We are delighted to have achieved 'Highly Commended' in this prestigious category at this year's 3GSM Awards. 3GSM has proven to be a great success for our team, with immense interest being shown in our offerings."
PageOne has been providing award winning wireless messaging solutions for nearly 20 years and has established a track record of leading the field in the introduction of innovative products and services. PageOne owns and operates a UK paging network and provides business SMS messaging solutions; PageOne Paging and PageOne Connect respectively.
All PageOne systems are powered by the company's own flexible platform Oventus, developed to enable the seamless integration of mobile messaging across different networks and technologies. These services have consistently been designed to meet and exceed the demands of an increasingly mobile environment, providing reliable and cost effective communications to thousands of organisations across the government, NHS and major corporate sectors.
