2/14/2006 - RadiSys Corp. (Nasdaq: RSYS) announced the ProcelerantTM CE 945GM, one of the industry’s first COM Express modules to use the Mobile Intel® 945GM Express chipset and the only module available today with 5V support. The CE 945GM not only supports single-core Intel® Pentium® M and Intel® Celeron® M processors but also the new Intel® CoreTM Duo and offers the flexibility and small footprint designers need when developing applications such as, medical imaging and monitoring, industrial automation monitoring and control, communications, gaming, entertainment and test and measurement.
"Availability of the RadiSys Procelerant CE945GM complements Intel’s dual-core product architecture," said Doug Davis, vice president, Digital Enterprise Group, general manager Communications Infrastructure Group at Intel. "By extending their support to include the 945GM chipset and our new dual-core processors, RadiSys is helping developers rapidly implement innovative solutions to meet the demanding performance needs of their customers."
The Procelerant CE945GM includes features vital for today’s complex embedded applications that require a standard processor and memory subsystem at the core of their design. These include enhanced CPU performance, improved video performance, additional PCI-Express lanes, legacy PCI and IDE support. RadiSys offers the only COM with 5V support based on the COM-Express standard (Procelerant CE945GM). This option provides system users a modular solution that can be used on legacy VME, CompactPCI and other 5V supply boards.
"With its modular design, the Procelerant CE 945GM makes it easier for OEMs to plan for feature changes and performance upgrades without having to re-design their products," said Wade Clowes, general manager, Commercial Segment at RadiSys. "This product provides our customers’ leading edge embedded solutions that help them develop better products faster and more economically."
