2/8/2006 - TenAsys Corporation announces its promotion by Intel® Corporation to bronze membership status in the Intel Communications Alliance, a community of communications and embedded developers and solutions providers.
Acceptance as a bronze member of the Intel Communication Alliance is a reflection of TenAsys Corporation's long-term commitment to the embedded market. TenAsys will be demonstrating how the company's INtime real-time OS complements Microsoft® Windows in a dual-OS system running on the new Intel CoreTM Duo processor in the Intel booth, #12-550 (Hall 12), at the Embedded World show to be held February 14-16, 2006 in Nürnberg, Germany.
The INtime OS from TenAsys, a leading authority on virtualization technology for real-time and embedded applications, is based on software that has been field-proven in performance-critical Intel Architecture applications over the last 25 years, and first demonstrated real-time dual-OS virtualization in 1990. INtime is the only protected-mode real-time operating system that uses virtual machine technology to isolate Microsoft Windows, enabling real-time applications to execute with guaranteed determinism in concurrence with Windows on standard PC hardware. Because real-time application code executes in user-mode, the INtime environment is immune to application faults that crash kernel-mode driver solutions.
The company's offering continues to advance with new hardware innovations. INtime 3.0 adds support for Intel's dual-core processors, offering the ability to dedicate one CPU core of a multi-core processor for exclusive real-time use, and the ability to debug real-time applications along with Windows applications using the Microsoft Visual Studio debugger.
"The breadth of technology and tools that support the new Intel Core Duo processor continues to grow," said Kim Hartman, TenAsys' VP of Sales and Marketing, "and TenAsys is committed to playing a leadership role in the application of real-time operating systems to leverage the best performance from VT-x enabled processors."
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, TenAsys delivers real-time technology, tools, and services based on the embedded computer industry's most popular processor and operating system technologies. As an Intel Communications Alliance member, TenAsys joins a network of over 300 member companies that provide products and solutions that help embedded system designers speed up development cycles, cut costs and solve design issues. In 2005, Microsoft recognized TenAsys as its Windows Embedded Partner of the Year, ISV category, for the second year in a row. Cited for its efforts as an independent software vendor in enhancing the performance of Microsoft's Windows operating system for mission-critical, real-time applications, TenAsys is the only software company to receive this award two years in a row. INtime software was also the first, and only RTOS to be fully integrated within the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
