1/23/2006 - East Anglia based technology marketing specialists, Energi, are celebrating a second successful year since their launch back in January 2003. During 2005, Energi attracted new clients such as Cambridge hi-tech company NCT, London based new media company Amplefuture and Norfolk based precision engineering experts Acro.
Energi specialises in helping hi-tech and engineering companies sell their products and services across the world. Richard Blackburn, the Managing Director, initially studied electronic and electrical engineering and then went on to be a design engineer working on a range of analogue and digital projects. From here, he went on to become a successful Sales Engineer and then made a further move into technical marketing.
"As a sales engineer, I had a clear view of what marketing was working and what wasn't. When you are in sales and you have effective marketing behind you, you simply get better quality opportunities and more of them," said Richard Blackburn. Energi claims that they have delivered a 600% increase in website traffic for one client, resulting in enquiries from around the world, many from highly respected technology manufacturers. Another client has started exporting its technology for the first time. Energi's marketing services include marketing consultancy, brand development, press relations, web design, search engine optimisation, editorial creation and placement, event management and technical sales training.
"An important introduction for us this year was the Technical Sales Training Courses. These have been especially developed to equip engineers with the necessary skills and understanding to enable them to work effectively in the sales and marketing side of an organisation," said Richard Blackburn. "In many cases, an engineer's product knowledge makes them an ideal candidate for promotion into a critical Sales role - this course is designed to help them make this transition with confidence and enthusiasm and can provide an important route forward in developing a company's sales strategy."
Another important aspect of Energi's year was the running of a second series of the "Embedded Masterclass" technical seminars for Swedish based technology company Enea Embedded Technology. Over 700 engineers have registered to attend these seminars over the past two years, enabling Enea to position themselves at the heart of the UK embedded technology sector and providing a valuable vehicle for communicating the benefits of their embedded software products.
For 2006, Energi is simply planning more of the same. "We know from our clients that our methods are delivering the result that they had wished for, so we are planning to stick with our guiding principal of working hard and doing the right things," said Richard. "Our clients sell to a very educated and pragmatic audience, so we know we need to carry on focusing on how we communicate effectively in the technology sector."
